There are numerous options for enhancing your hair, whether you want to darken your blonde locks or become brunette lightly.
And it’s always easier and less aggressive to avoid nailing them! We offer six tips for frying a color too light for your taste, whether in the coffeemaker or at home!
1. Choose the Coffee
Coffee can be used to fade your hair quickly. This method, as simple as it is inexpensive, yields quick results.
Coffee can provide subtle nuances but not a radical shift. The best results will be obtained on light-colored hair, but coffee is also a good option for nourishing your grey hair.
- The first step is to make a well-corseted coffee: at least 5 quarts of rich coffee. Allow the coffee to cool completely after it has been prepared.
- The coffee should then be applied to your neck by pouring it on your head or folding your hair in a salad bowl for a few seconds.
- Then you roll your hair up with an old napkin that you don’t want to touch and sit for a couple of minutes. After the pose time is up, there is nothing left to do but rinse the hair in the water.
2. A Bet on the Nuts
Although it is not the first thing that comes to mind, the walnut husk is an excellent hair colorant for naturally coloring your hair, especially if you have white hair.
- You can buy walnut husk in organic stores or on the Internet or make it yourself. In this case, please pick up the walnut shells (at least twenty are required to fund the preparation adequately), place them in a casserole of water and bring them to a boil for 30 minutes.
- Allow the water to cool before filtering it through a sieve. Finally, we apply it to your hair and leave it on for at least one hour before rinsing with clean water (cold water may cause the color to split).
- Before you begin, remember to protect your hands, face, and clothing from the walnut husk, which has an annoying tendency to stain.
3. Visit a Salon
Entrusting your hair to a colorist to darken a color is the most dependable solution, promising a professional and long-lasting result.
- The hairdresser will recommend different types of coloring, partial or total, based on your preferences and the condition of your hair.
- Semi-permanent, permanent, tone-on-tone, vegetal, balayage, patina. He has an entire palette to satisfy your desires while respecting your hair and achieving the best possible result!
- Even though it is more expensive than a home method, there are times when it is more appropriate, such as when you want to go from platinum blonde to jet hair.
- If your hair is brittle, damaged, or fragile or has been subjected to multiple treatments, it is advisable to seek professional assistance.
Bleaching bleached hair is not something you can do on your own; it is a customs procedure that a colorist is more likely to master!
4. Take Pleasure in Cocoa
This is the most gourmet of all of these suggestions! Cocoa is ideal for subtly darkening your hair, especially brown hair, which it will add depth to.
The recipe looks delicious, and we almost want to try it!
Mix eight tablespoons of chocolate powder, one teaspoon of honey, and plain yogurt in a mixing bowl. This paste is applied to the entire length of the hair, from the roots to the tips, and then left to sit for a quarter-hour before shampooing.
5. Use Henna
This is the most obvious tip for darkening your hair without using chemicals.
- Henna is a natural, plant-based dye that has been used for thousands of years. There are wide varieties, but we prefer organic to ensure quality.
- Henna is ideal for darkening red hair, darkening overly blond hair, or achieving black hair; select the appropriate powder.
However, using a Henna to darken your hair after bleaching or to darken colored hair is not recommended. Remember that giving your hair several weeks of “rest” is best after each chemical treatment.
The application is simple:
- Pour the henna powder into a container (respecting the indicated doses).
- Add hot water (but not boiling, as too high a temperature would degrade the Henna).
- Mix with a wooden or silicone spoon (not metal, which promotes oxidation).
- Apply the paste to wet hair, paying particular attention to the scalp, especially if you want to darken your roots. Wrap the hair in cellophane and leave it on for 30 minutes (refer to the time indicated in the instructions).
- Finally, we rinse without shampoo to allow the Henna to oxidize over the next two or three days.
Take precautions to avoid stains, such as applying a small amount of Vaseline or oil to the hairline to prevent henna stains.
6. Choose Black Tea
Black tea can also be used to darken your hair with one shade. However, the effects of this method fade quickly, so it is best used to darken hair or camouflage grey hair temporarily.
- We begin by brewing a strong tea, just as we do with coffee. We put two or three tea bags in the teapot and let them infuse for a few minutes. The longer you wait, the more colored the water becomes and, as a result, the more effective it is at tinting the hair. After that, the tea bags can be removed and cooled. When the tea is lukewarm, it is ready to use.
- Ideally, soak your hair in a tea bowl for a few minutes to allow the tea to absorb into the hair fiber. If not, scoop the tea over freshly washed hair.
There is no need to rinse; however, repeat the procedure the following day to enhance the effect.
