Louis Vuitton once again demonstrated its craftsmanship at the 2024 Australian Open with their Louis Vuitton’s Trophy trunk, where the Men’s Final, the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup, was awarded to champion Jannik Sinner. The trophy was presented in a specially designed Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk, showcasing the iconic fashion house’s ability to merge tradition with contemporary elegance.
The trophy presentation featured Oscar and two-time Golden Globe-nominated actress Ana de Armas, who serves as a Louis Vuitton House Ambassador, alongside two-time Australian Open champion Jim Courier (1992 and 1993). Ana de Armas captivated the audience in an exquisite Louis Vuitton ensemble, including a long-sleeved circle wrap vinyl blouse, a Bouclé Monogram mini skirt with front pockets, and Silhouette ankle boots. Her look was complemented by stunning pieces from the Louis Vuitton Fine Jewelry collection, such as Blossom mini hoops, an ear cuff, and an open ring, all crafted in pink gold and diamonds. The event seamlessly blended sports and luxury, showcasing the brand’s latest masterpiece.
The Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk stands as a testament to the Maison’s extensive heritage and exceptional craftsmanship. Meticulously crafted by skilled artisans at Louis Vuitton’s historic workshops in Asnières, located just outside Paris, this trunk is a masterpiece. Adorned with the unmistakable Louis Vuitton Monogram canvas, it showcases timeless lozine leather trim, brass corner protectors, and locks and clasps that have been synonymous with Louis Vuitton trunks since the 1860s. Enhancing its uniqueness, the trunk features two frontal panels adorned with a bold white ‘V,’ symbolizing both ‘Victory’ and ‘Vuitton.’ Inside, the lining is crafted from blue microfiber, harmonizing with the color scheme of the Australian Open and its distinctive blue courts. The bottom side of the lid proudly showcases the Australian Open logo, a white ‘AO,’ representing the seamless blend of sports and high-end fashion. This trunk is the result of a collaborative effort between Louis Vuitton and the Australian Open, commemorating the enduring intersection of luxury and sports.
