Cinnamon, spicy, sweet, and woody aromas are pleasing not only to our taste buds but also to our hair!

Cinnamon powder and essential oil are indeed used in our beauty products. It promotes growth, slows hair loss, cleanses the scalp, and has lightening properties when used in hair care or masks.

Let’s look at these advantages and how to incorporate cinnamon into your hair routine without further ado!

What are the hair benefits of cinnamon?

Cinnamon is a beneficial ally for our hair. Your hair will shine with beauty as it is antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, invigorating, and stimulating!

1. Cinnamon encourages hair growth

Cinnamon essential oil stimulates blood circulation in the scalp due to its toning properties. As a result, it delivers essential nutrients to the hair follicles. The result? Your hair is nourished, strengthened, and grows faster as a result.

When used in hair care, cinnamon promotes growth while increasing shine.

2. Cinnamon helps to prevent hair loss

We’ve already seen that cinnamon has stimulating properties. And it is the scalp’s microcirculation that will prevent hair loss.

Hair follicles that are nourished are stronger and more resistant. As a result, your hair will be denser and more vibrant.

3. Cinnamon can help with greasy hair

Cinnamon essential oil is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. As a result, it soothes irritated scalps and controls excess sebum.

You can use it with vegetable oil about thirty minutes before shampooing.

As a result, cinnamon relieves irritation and itching. It can also help you get rid of dandruff.

4. Cinnamon helps to lighten the hair

Ceylon cinnamon is also used in cosmetics to lighten skin. It does contain natural peroxidase, which allows for hair lightening.

Don’t expect to go from brunette to blonde! But instead, to achieve a lighter shade naturally.

To lighten hair, use ground cinnamon rather than essential oil. However, we will provide you with a recipe later on!

Cinnamon and hair: are there any disadvantages?

Essential oils, as you are aware, should always be used with caution. They are expressly prohibited for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under 12.

Cinnamon essential oil is no different. Especially because cinnamon is dermocaustic, it can burn the skin and is allergenic.

In other words, it must be used cautiously on the skin and hair. Before using it, perform a test in the hollow of the elbow and wait 24 hours to ensure that you do not have an allergic reaction.

Also, please don’t use a cinnamon essential oil on its own. It must be combined with vegetable oil or your shampoo.

Before using any essential oil, it is always best to seek professional advice to ensure no contraindications.
